Oolong Tea Formosa
Description
Oolong Tea Formosa
Discover the exquisite flavor and aroma of our Oolong Tea Formosa, a medium-oxidized oolong tea. This tea is made from large, coarse leaves that are partially oxidized to give them a smooth, mellow, and fairly dark character. The tea has a light reddish-brown color and a roasty, sweet, and fruity aroma. The taste is mild, toasty, and sweet, with light notes of earth and barley.
Health benefits:
It is rich in antioxidants, especially catechins and theaflavins, which can protect the cells from free radical damage and may lower the risk of chronic diseases.
It may aid digestion and gut health, as the oolong tea leaves are high in fiber and may stimulate bile production and nutrient absorption.
It may help with weight loss, as the oolong tea can boost metabolism and regulate blood sugar levels, and the partial oxidation can enhance the fat-burning effect.
It may improve brain function and mental health, as the oolong tea contains caffeine and theanine, which can enhance alertness, mood, and cognitive performance.
Brewing Instructions:
Use 1-2 teaspoons of tea leaves per 8 oz of water.
Heat water to 190°F - bring water to a boil, then let it rest for 2 minutes.
Pour a small amount of water and rinse out the leaves. Then discard this water.
Pour more hot water and let it steep for 10-20 seconds. Pour the tea through a strainer.
Continue steeps as many times as you would like, adding 5-10 seconds to each. While there is no exact number of steeps one should adhere to, once the strength of the tea no longer comes through, the leaves have been fully extracted.
Try it with: honey, lemon, or mint for extra flavor and health benefits. Mix Oolong Tea Formosa with other oolong teas, such as Dong Ding, Baozhong, or Oriental Beauty, for a more varied and complex blend.
